Government Purchases 1.8 Million kg of Paddy
Minister of Agriculture Mahinda Amaraweera says that the government has purchased about 1.8 million kilograms of paddy so far.
The Minister says that by the time funds were received for the purchase of paddy, the farmers had already sold a considerable amount of paddy.
The minister adds that if the funds were received earlier, it would have been possible to create reserves as well.
