Fisheries export revenue $110 more than fish imports
The State Ministry of Fisheries stated that Sri Lanka's revenue from seafood exports during the first seven months of this year was US $ 110 million more than the amount spent on fish imports.
Accordingly, Sri Lanka's seafood exports this year will surpass the $ 122 million revenue surplus achieved in 2014.
The ministry also revealed that 99 percent of the country's demand for dried sprats was imported last year at a cost of Rs. 31 million.
