Two men arrested for shooting dead senior citizen in Ambalantota.
A 62-year-old man was gunned down inside his residence in Koggalla, Ambalantota early on Wednesday (19) morning.
Sri Lanka Police said that three men had opened first at the man.
According to Sri Lanka Police, a man had reportedly been looking for the victims' son early on Wednesday (19) morning by peeking into the house, and a small girl who was studying inside a room had noticed it and yelled out.
Thereafter, the victim had stepped out from the back door with a torch to inspect the commotion, and it was at that moment that the suspects had opened fire at fled the scene.
Several hours later, Sri Lanka Police arrested two men over the murder.
