COVID TESTS AT W/PROVINCE EXITS DETECT 16 PATIENTS
Randon COVID-19 tests conducted at the exit points of the Western Province resulted in the detection of 16 COVID-19 positive patients from 940 people who were tested on Wednesday (30).
Since the 18th of December 2020 to-date 11,926 people were subject to random COVID-19 tests and 90 people tested positive for COVID-19.
On Wednesday (30), 195 Close Contacts were identified and since the 18th of December 2020 to-date 572 Close Contacts were identified, said the Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana.
The close contacts were either sent to quarantine facilities or placed in home quarantine he added.
The Police Spokesperson said the operation will continue until the 05th of January 2021.
