Ranil Presents 'Puluwan Sri Lanka' manifesto
The 'Puluwan Sri Lanka' manifesto of Independent Presidential Candidate President Ranil Wickremesinghe launched in Colombo.
At the launch of his policy statement, President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced that financial allocations would be provided to 50,000 school leavers to support their technical training.
In his policy statement, President Ranil Wickremesinghe outlined the priorities of the five-year plan: easing the cost of living, creating jobs, offering tax relief, promoting economic growth & implementing the Aswesuma & Urumaya programs. As the first step, 100,000 new sources of employment will be created.
The "Five Years of Winning the Country with Ranil" manifesto states that a separate authority will be established to efficiently implement a program for granting land rights to citizens. Through the Urumaya initiative, land rights will be provided to two million people & the transfer of ownership of low-income government housing in Colombo will be completed within four years.
The policy statement outlines plans to offer concessional housing loans to the middle class, assist low-income earners in acquiring flats & grant land rights to plantation workers living in new villages & line rooms.
It also commits to involving poverty-stricken community groups in regional development programs & prioritizing their employment in local infrastructure projects.
The manifesto titled "Five Years of Winning the Country with Ranil" outlines plans to strengthen the economy by introducing the "People's Sector," providing every citizen with the opportunity to own land or a house, establishing a "National Wealth Fund," & fully restructuring the cooperative business sector
