Indian Warship INS Mumbai At Colombo Port
Indian Navy’s frontline Warship INS Mumbai is the third of the Delhi class destroyers, indigenously built and commissioned into the Indian Navy on 22 January 2001.
INS Mumbai will be bringing essential spares for the Dornier maritime patrol aircraft operated by Sri Lanka Airforce.
INS Mumbai is a 163-metre-long Destroyer which is manned by a crew of 410. The ship is commanded by Captain Sandeep Kumar. He called on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Chinthaka Kumarasinghe at the Western Naval Command Headquarters today.
The visit is categorized as an Operational Turn Around (OTR), wherein the ship will also replenish fuel and provisions.
On her departure on 29th August, INS Mumbai is set to engage in a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with a Sri Lanka Navy ship off the coast of Colombo.
