Special island wide security plan for Poson Poya
Police say a security program is in place across the island for Poson Poya.
Police Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police Attorney-At-Law Nihal Thalduwa says Mihintale, Anuradhapura city limits, Thanthirimale, Avukana, Vijithapura, Namal Uyana, and Kekirawa have been identified as areas where people gather during Poson.
He says a decision was reached to deploy nearly 20,000 Police officers for security at temples.
