Curfew in Western Province to be lifted on Monday - Army Commander

Joining the 'Paththare Visthare' programme aired on Hiru TV, Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva stated that there are no plans of imposing curfew in the Western Province after coming Monday (09).

He stated that there is a significant impact on industries in the country with the prevailing curfew.

The Army Commander pointed out that the imposed curfew also restricts the repatriation process of the Sri Lankans stranded overseas, and considering these factors, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa instructed the relevant authorities to lift the imposed curfew on Monday (09).

He further added that if the public follows the proper health guidelines and practices, there is no need to impose a curfew.
