Minister of Agriculture warns of another vegetable shortage
Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries, Mahinda Amaraweera says that even if the current shortage of vegetables will end in the near future, there may be another shortage of vegetables by the month of June.
The minister says that the main reason for this is the possible occurrence of a drought this year.
Accordingly, the Minister has instructed the Department of Agriculture to launch a suitable program immediately to deal with the shortage of vegetables.
