According to the Government Dental Surgeons Association, 96% of Sri Lankan children by the age of five are suffering from dental illnesses.

Secretary of the Government Dental Surgeons Association, Dr. Manjula Herath, said that 85% of 15-year-olds and 79% of 12-year-olds are also affected with the dental illnesses.

Dr. Herath emphasizes that these dental issues are particularly widespread among children in rural areas and urges parents to prioritize their children's oral health to combat this problem.
