17 more infected in the Kandy hospital
Two nurses working at the ENT Clinic at the Kandy National Hospital were diagnosed with coronavirus infection yesterday
During the PCR tests conducted on their associates, 17 more infected persons have been identified. Hospital Director Dr. Iresha Fernando said that a doctor and nine nurses were among the infected.
Four new cases of coronavirus have been reported from the Hatton - Kotagala Pradeshiya Sabha area. The group, who are employed in Colombo, were on their way to their homes in the plantation areas to celebrate Deepavali. The Kotagala Medical Superintendent of Health stated that they have been identified during PCR tests
Meanwhile, the Commissioner General of Prisons Thushara Upuldeniya stated that the President has granted amnesty to 606 persons who have been imprisoned for minor offenses due to the prevailing coronavirus situation
