One person injured in a shooting in Tissamaharama
One person was injured in a shooting in Tissamaharama. Police Spokesperson DIG Nihal Thalduwa said that the shooting took place when a Police officer's firearm discharged during an operation.
He said that a team of police officers conducted a raid on a betting centre and the people there had attempted to flee.
The Police spokesperson said that during an encounter between a police officer and a suspect, the police officer's firearm discharged.
The victim has been identified as a 28-year-old who is currently hospitalized and undergoing treatment.
