Indian Fishermen Caught in Sri Lankan Waters

The Sri Lanka Navy has arrested ten Indian fishermen for allegedly crossing into Sri Lankan territorial waters and engaging in illegal fishing activities off the coast of Battalangunduwa, Puttalam.

According to Navy Spokesperson Commander Buddhika Sampath, the arrests were made late last night (5), and the fishing vessel used by the suspects was also seized by naval personnel. 

In a separate incident, four more Indian fishermen were apprehended near Kachchativu Island in the Jaffna region, also during nighttime patrols.
