PUCSL to consider public comments on electricity tariff reduction
Sri Lanka is exploring the possibility of lowering electricity tariffs for consumers, with public hearings set for today (February 15th) to gather feedback on the proposed changes.
Approximately 30 registered individuals will provid verbal comments at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo.
Among them, the Sri Lanka Public Utilities Commission Employees' Union advocated for a 20-25% reduction in electricity charges.
Their analysis, based on the Ceylon Electricity Board's (CEB) proposed revision and financial statements, suggests such a drop is feasible.
