Sri Lanka short of 20,000 Police Officers.
ri Lanka's Public Security Minister Tiran Alles said that the country faces a shortage of approximately 20,000 Police Officers.
The Minister said the shortage arose due to the retirement of officers, and others leaving the services, and some stepping down due to disabilities.
He said that 2,000 Police Officers will be recruited in order to address the shortage, and the remaining vacancies will be filled later on.
