Fuel QR Code Usage at 60%, says State Minister.
During a media briefing at the President's office, the Minister of State for Power and Energy, D. V. Chanaka, revealed that people are utilizing only 60 percent of the fuel capacity provided through the QR code system in Sri Lanka.
The minister emphasized that with the entry of new companies into the fuel sector, there might be upcoming changes in the QR code system. He added that when new companies arrive in the market, the amount of foreign exchange that can be earned by the local agencies on a monthly basis would reduce.
Subsequently, the QR quota may be increased or the quota system may be removed as well, added the State Minister.
