Activities of six political parties suspended
The activities of six political parties have been temporarily suspended by the National Election Commission.
The National Election Commission chief Nimal Punchihewa told reporters that the decision was taken taking into account the fact that the said parties are now resorting to judicial proceedings as a result of internal conflicts among them.
National Election Commission said that the names of the parties in question will not be disclosed as it will disadvantages to them during an election.
