Special traffic plan from today for Independence Day
A special traffic plan has been implemented in and around Independence Square in Colombo on the days of rehearsals and Independence Day celebrations.
Accordingly, traffic will be restricted on Independence Square for five days from today (30).
Therefore, the police is requesting drivers to use alternative routes.
Accordingly, the road from Borella to Nelum Pokuna Roundabout will be closed and vehicles coming from Borella will be able to travel via Horton Place, Wijerama Mawatha, Ward Place, Town Hall and Union Place.
Vehicles traveling from Colombo to Borella can also use the relevant road.
However, the traffic on Galle Road and Bauddhaloka Mawatha will continue as usual, police said.
