Burial or Cremation: UNP leader makes a statement regarding the remains of covid victims
UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe says that the government should take a decision regarding cremating or burial of the bodies of the coronavirus infected after discussions with all communities.
The UNP leader points out that it is the basic right of the people to decide whether to cremate or bury their dead.
It was stated that discussions should have been held with Buddhist, Hindu Muslim and Christian religious leaders before taking a decision in this regard.
Addressing a meeting of the Working Committee held at the Sirikotha party headquarters today (23) he further stated that it is important to look into the recommendations made by the World Health Organization as well countries such as Korea, India and Germany.
