I will reveal more mysterious details on Easter attacks - Pujith
Former Inspector General Pujith Jayasundara testifying before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into Easter Sunday attacks, stated that there were mysterious reasons behind the April 21 terrorist attacks. He said they will be revealed to the Commission at a future date.
Testifying before the Commission on Saturday (17), Jayasundara further stated that although the Sri Lanka Police perform their duties under very difficult conditions there were several instances when their duties were obstructed.
He further highlighted that foreign currency, politics, the betrayals of the people who gave him information, the diversion of various informants and other mysterious causes were among them.
He stated that although police officers were on duty in the midst of many difficulties, it was not enough to prevent the attack. “After this unfortunate incident, there is a conclusion that only the IGP is responsible for this,”Jayasundara added.
The former IGP further said that he had been overlooked from the National Security Council (NSC) on childish grounds and the authorities at that time had instructed the officer who replaced him at NSC meetings not to share information with him.
