Another 85 Sri Lankans return to the island, after months trapped overseas
85 Sri Lankans who were stranded overseas due to COVID-19 returned to the island on Tuesday (17) morning.
The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said 26 are from Dubai, 37 are from Doha and 22 are from Qatar.
All returnees were subject to PCR tests at the Bandaranaike International Airport and were moved to tri-forces operated quarantine facilities to undergo the mandatory quarantine period.
The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) said 3281 people are undergoing quarantine at 33 Quarantine Facilities operated by the tri-forces.
10,713 PCR tests were carried out on Monday (16), it added.
