இலங்கையில் வீசிய பலத்த காற்று 200மேற்பட்ட வீடுகளில் சேதம் Over 200 houses damaged in Sri lanka due to winds
The Disaster Management Center stated that 230 houses and 24 business establishments have been partially damaged due to a wind that blew across the Nikaweratiya area yesterday (11) afternoon due to heavy rains.
The center said that most of the roofs have been damaged and assessment work had begun.
The Meteorological Department stated that heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and North-Western Provinces today (12) as well.
The Department urged the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
