Colombo inflation increases to 5.4% in April
The overall rate of inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, has increased to 5.4% in April 2026.
According to the Department of Census and Statistics, the figure is an increase from the 2.2% reported in March this year.
Food inflation has also increased to 2.8% in April compared to the 0.7% recorded in March.
Non-food inflation has also reported an increase to 6.8% in April from the 2.9% in March.
