Vegetable Prices Soar Due to Heavy Rains in Sri Lanka
I.B. Wijenanda, Secretary of the Dambulla Economic Trade Center Trade Association said vegetable prices in Sri Lanka have spiked once more due to persistent rainfall.
Wijenanda said that ginger prices have seen the most dramatic increase, currently selling between a staggering 3500 and 3800 rupees per kilogram.
Limes have also been impacted, with prices ranging from 800 to 900 rupees per kilogram.
