Ten police teams have been appointed to arrest a police sergeant who has been attached to the Kuruwita police station in Rathnapura who fled with his firearm claiming that he would kill nine people.
The suspect had fled with his firearm while on duty in the Siripagama area on 29 October.
He had travelled to several of his relatives' homes in Kurunegala and had claimed that he wanted to kill nine persons. He had informed his relatives that the Kuruwita Police OIC is among the nine persons.
It has been 12 days since the police sergeant had fled and information regarding him is yet to be received.
