Municipal Officer Escapes Gun Attack In Dehiwala
A shocking incident unfolded this morning (24) near Park Road in Dehiwala, where an unidentified gunman attempted to shoot a municipal inspector in what police suspect may have been a targeted attack.
According to police reports, the assailant arrived on a motorcycle and aimed a pistol at the official. However, the weapon failed to discharge, and the suspect fled the scene immediately after the failed attempt.
Authorities said that the motive behind the attempted shooting remains unknown, and no injuries were reported.
The incident has prompted a multi-team investigation, with three separate police units now working to uncover the circumstances and identify the suspect.
