22 Indian Nationals Arrested for Illegal Stay

Officials from the Immigration and Emigration Department's Investigation Unit arrested 22 Indian nationals in Rajagiriya for illegally residing in Sri Lanka.

The arrests were made on Thursday (10). 

The individuals had entered the country approximately three months ago under various visa categories: 17 on tourist visas, 4 on resident visas, and 1 on a business visa.

The arrests were made following sudden interrogations by the Investigation Unit on two suspects.

Thereafter, it was disclosed that the other Indians were at an office comlex. The detained individuals are aged between 25 and 35 years.
