SriLankan Airlines warns of fake mobile applications impersonating national carrier

SriLankan Airlines has issued a public advisory warning passengers about fraudulent mobile applications impersonating the national carrier.

In its advisory, SriLankan Airlines cautioned passengers against downloading mobile applications from unofficial websites, social media links, messaging platforms, or third-party app stores.

The airline emphasised that it never asks customers to download its mobile application through links shared via WhatsApp, SMS, email, or social media messages.

It also clarified that it never requests one-time passwords (OTPs), banking PINs, credit card details, or other financial information from customers.

SriLankan Airlines advised passengers to download or update its official mobile application exclusively through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, while verifying that the publisher is listed as SriLankan Airlines Limited.

The airline further stated that its official promotions, offers, and digital services are available through its official website, www.srilankan.com, its official mobile application, and verified social media accounts.

Passengers who encounter suspicious applications claiming to represent SriLankan Airlines have been urged not to install them or provide personal or payment information.

They are also advised to report such applications to the airline through its official communication channels.
