Youth electrocuted by illegal electric fence in Badulla
A person has reportedly died by electrocution after coming into contact with an unauthorized electric fence erected in a field near the playground at Nuge Junction area in Badulla.
Police stated that the relevant incident was reported last night (03) and that the deceased was identified to be a 23-year-old youth from the Hindagoda area in Hambawela.
Police further reported that the cause of death was due to entanglement with an electricity wire that was illegally utilized to keep away wild animals from damaging crops.
Further investigations related to the incident are carried out by Badulla Police.
