2025 Budget Passed by Majority of 114 Votes
Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne has officially assented to the Appropriation Bill for the financial year 2025, which was passed in Parliament, thereby enacting it as Appropriation Bill No. 3 of 2025.
The final vote, held during the third reading of the Appropriation Bill yesterday, saw 159 MPs voting in favour and 45 against, securing a majority of 114 votes.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, in his capacity as Minister of Finance, presented the second reading of the Appropriation Bill on February 17.
