Action Against Knuckles Trespassers
The Department of Forest Conservation said that strict action will be taken against people who enter the Knuckles Reserve without permission.
Nishantha Edirisinghe, Conservator General, Department of Forest Conservation of Sri Lanka said that various people organize tours of the reserve through social media networks and stated that a serious threat to safety has arisen due to the fact that they use different routes which would be dangerous and can also harm the ecosystem of the forest.
He said necessary steps will be taken to identify those people who organize such trips and advise them.
Further actions will be taken accordingly.
