China pledges their support for SL at UNHRC

China has pledged its support to Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Luo Shaohui during a meeting with the Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Dr. Palitha Kohona on Monday, according to a statement posted on the official Twitter account of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Beijing.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs has stated that he will provide assistance to manage the coronavirus pandemic and to boost the tourism industry in the country.

The Chinese Representative to the 46th Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva also expressed his support for Sri Lanka.

He said that the resolution brought against Sri Lanka by several countries was an interference in the internal affairs of the country.

Chinese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Luo Shaohui and Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Dr. Palitha Kohona also exchanged views on the Sino-Sri Lankan Free Trade Agreement
