44 Sri Lankan Prisoners In The UAE Granted Royal Pardon
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE announced that a royal pardon has been granted to forty-four Sri Lankan nationals who were incarcerated in various prisons across the United Arab Emirates.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that the Sri Lankan Embassy in Abu Dhabi received official notification from the United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Foreign Affairs that a royal pardon has been granted to Sri Lankan prisoners in observance of Ramadan.
These forty-four Sri Lankans who have been granted a royal pardon will be sent to Sri Lanka by the United Arab Emirates government in due course.
The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi will work closely with the United Arab Emirates authorities and the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the safe return of the relevant individuals.
