Public Health Inspector Shot Dead in Elpitiya
A public health inspector was shot dead this morning (26) in the Pathirajawatta area of Elpitiya.
The victim, identified as 51-year-old Roshan Kumara, was the treasurer of the Public Health Inspectors Union.
According to police reports, Kumara was shot while at his home by two unidentified gunmen who arrived on a motorcycle.
Authorities have confirmed that a pistol was used in the attack.
The motive for the shooting remains unknown, and police are currently investigating the incident.
