
Ranil meets Mahinda in Bentota
Former Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe has met Prime Minjster Mahinda Rajapksha in Bentota last week.
Speaking to a Newspaper former Prime Minister confirmed that he met the Premier for a friendly chat.
“Yes it was a friendly meetup. We’ve been discussing on we meeting up for some time now. Unlike me, others can meet the PM in the Parliament. I also spoke about the county’s economy because he is the Finance Minster too.” Ranil Wickramasinghe told the Aruna Newspaper.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa had earlier insisted that former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is the most suitable person to lead the Opposition in Sri Lanka.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, the Prime Minister said he did not think there was anyone other than Wickremesinghe who could represent the United National Party in Parliament.
He said politically speaking, Ranil Wickremesinghe is the suitable person, even though his presence is disadvantageous to the Government.
