Three teams of CID detectives probing health ministry issues.
The Criminal Investigations Department has assigned three teams to conduct investigations with regard to several issues at the Ministry of Health, including the importation of substandard medicines to the country.
The CID said that statements have been recorded from around 30 health ministry officials, including the former Health Secretary.
It added that detectives are engaged in a comprehensive study with regard to the tender process and evaluation process adopted in importing medicines to the country.
The CID said that a statement from Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella will be recorded in due course.
Detectives attached to the Criminal Investigations Department have also recorded statements from personnel employed at the company that produced counterfeit Human Immunoglobulin by producing fake documentation.
