Funeral of senior journalist Edwin Ariyadasa with State patronage
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed that the funeral of the late senior journalist Kala Keerthi Dr. Edwin Ariyadasa be held with state patronage.
The Prime Minister's office said in a statement that Secretary to the Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religion and Culture Prof. Kapila Gunardhana and Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media Jagath Wijeweera had been instructed accordingly.
Dr. Edwin Ariyadasa who rendered invaluable service to the media field in this country, passed away yesterday (22).
He was 98 years old at the time of his death.
