Eye disease spreading in Sri Lanka, health officials urge public to take precautions.
Health officials inform the general public to follow health safety measures to protect themselves from eye diseases.
Specialist eye surgeon of the Colombo National Eye Hospital Dr. Kapila Banduthilaka says that eye disease is currently spreading across the island.
Symptoms of eye disease are, redness of the eyes, tearing, and swelling of the eyelids.
Dr.Banduthilaka informs the general public to be aware of this disease spreading widely among children.
He adds that the eye disease spreads through physical contact. He says that it can be conveniently prevented if people avoid touching their eyes unnecessarily, and ensure cleanliness of hands before making contact with eyes.
