Tangalle Assassination: Car used by gunmen, found.

Sri Lanka Police managed to locate the car that was used to transport the gunmen who assassinated a man in Dikwella, Tangalle on Tuesday (15) night.

Sri Lanka Police said the car was obtained from Colombo, and the driver was arrested.

Investigations revealed that the two gunmen were picked up from Ambalangoda, and Weligama.

Investigations also revealed that they had left the car in Tangalle, and they obtained a motorbike to commit the crime.

Sri Lanka Police said the two men who carried out the assassination have gone into hiding, and investigations are underway. 

Sri Lanka Police on Wednesday (16) evening recovered a motorcycle believed to have been used by the gunmen who assassinated a man on Tuesday (15) night close to the Kudawella South Fisheries Pier in Tangalle.

Two unidentified motorcycle gunmen opened fire at Nimesh Rangana, a 35-year-old father of three in Kudawella, Tangalle.

He was gunned down while meeting with several others in Kudawella at around 7 PM on Tuesday (15).

Preliminary investigations revealed that the killing was a contract murder.
