235 police officers file petition against being denied promotions
Two hundred and thirty-five (235) constables and sergeants serving as police drivers have filed two fundamental rights petitions in the Supreme Court against being denied promotions.
The Hiru News Court correspondent stated that 210 constables serving as police drivers and 25 sergeants serving as police drivers have filed these fundamental rights petitions.
Accordingly, 11 persons, including the Inspector General of Police, the National Police Commission and NPC Chairman and members were named as respondents.
The petition states that although 31,000 officers of various police posts were promoted at one time, they were not given these promotions
