Girl friend arrested for abducting lover.
Four individuals have been arrested by Pinwatta Police in connection with the abduction of a young man who allegedly refused to marry his girlfriend.
According to the police, the suspects arrived on a three-wheeler and kidnapped the young man on Alubomulla road in Pinwatta, Panadura.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the girlfriend, who is said to be a member of the Navy, orchestrated the abduction after the young man declined to marry her, despite their romantic involvement.
The four suspects, including the girlfriend, who reside in the Wadduwa area, were apprehended following a complaint lodged by the kidnapped youth’s mother, who is an employee of a private company. The abductors released the young man after taking him to an abandoned house in the vicinity.
