Electricity Tariff Revision Proposal Delayed
The submission of the electricity tariff revision proposal to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) has faced further delays.
The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) cited the prevailing rainy weather as the reason behind the postponement in preparing the proposed tariff revision.
The ongoing rainy conditions have affected the timely compilation of accurate information related to hydroelectricity production, leading to the delay.
The CEB has assured that it will expedite the process and submit the relevant proposal to the PUCSL at the earliest.
The PUCSL acknowledged that the deadline for submitting the proposal had been extended twice due to unforeseen circumstances.
Prior to yesterday, the Ceylon Electricity Board received a reminder to promptly provide the proposal to the PUCSL.
