Horana IPZ rid of dengue mosquito breeding grounds
The Horana Pradeshiya Sabha conducted an inspection of dengue mosquito breeding grounds in the factory network located in the Investment Processing Zone in Horana, Wagawatte recently.
This programme was implemented on the instructions of Horana Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Ashoka Ranatunga.
As a first step, factory owners were requested to clean areas in their properties which were breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
At the end of the given notice period, a progress review of the factories was conducted as the second step.
The Pradeshiya Sabha prepared a report about factories which needed to be cleaned of dengue mosquito breeding areas and handed over it to the Medical Officer Office of Health, Ingiriya, with the intention of taking legal action against them.
