Daily COVID cases in the country exceed 600
The number of COVID infections reported in the country has crossed the 600 mark again and increased to 628 yesterday.
This also increased the total number of cases in the country to 544, 013.
Deputy Director-General of Health Services Specialist Dr. Hemantha Herath stated at a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday that the decline in the number of COVID infections in the country has been halted.
Dr. Ranjith Batuwanthuda, Director, Health Promotion Bureau also joined the media briefing.
The number of pregnant mothers who are hospitalized with COVID infection has also increased slightly.
Another 15 COVID-infected deaths were reported yesterday, bringing the total number of corona deaths in the country to 13,821.
