Inspecting vaccination cards in public places : Govt issues clarification
The Government Information Department, issuing a clarification, says that vaccination cards will be inspected only of people above 30 years when visiting public places.
Previously, the Government press release said that visiting public places will be allowed only for those who have taken both doses of the Covid vaccine.
Sri Lanka has not yet commenced vaccinating people under 30 years.
So far in the Western Province, following percentages of persons over 30 years of age have been administered both doses of Covid-19 vaccines:
Colombo: 51%
Gampaha: 48%
Kalutara: 55%
Meanwhile, Education Minister Prof GL Peiris told a press conference earlier this week that the Government is making necessary arrangement to vaccinate those between the ages of 18 – 30 years in next two weeks.
