Highest selling rate ever recorded for US$ in SL

The Sri Lanka Rupee depreciated further against the US Dollar today, the Central Bank of Sri Lanka reported.

The selling rate of the US Dollar was Rs. 201.77, becoming the highest selling rate of the US Dollar in the history of Sri Lanka.

The Rupee last depreciated against the US Dollar on 17th March, with the selling rate of the US Dollar at Rs. 201.75.

Thereby, the US Dollar was sold at Rs. 203.28 by the Bank of Ceylon, at Rs. 204.03 by the Peoples Bank, at Rs. 201.90 by the Commercial Bank and at Rs. 202.50 by the Sampath Bank today.

Meanwhile, according to the Central Bank, the buying rate of the US Dollar stood at Rs. 197.28 today
