Not for hire: Sri Lanka Police gets 2000 three-wheelers

A programme to provide 2000 new three-wheelers to the Sri Lanka Police was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the programme at the Temple Trees this morning by handing over new three-wheelers to 10 Police Stations.

The three-wheelers are being provided in order to strengthen the Police Department, by enabling officers to use the vehicles to engage in investigations, and various other special operations, including the prevention of crimes.
