Showers in many areas tonight as well
The Meteorological Department states that showers or thundershowers will occur in many parts of the island tonight.
Accordingly, heavy showers of up to 100 mm are expected in the Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces and in some places in the Polonnaruwa, Ampara and Batticaloa districts.
The department also stated that people should be more careful to minimize the aftermath of lightning.
