Sri Lanka Easter attacks report calls for criminal proceedings against Former President Sirisena
The Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) appointed to probe the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks has recommended criminal proceedings against former President Mathripala Sirisena.
The final report of the PCoI says it is of the view that there is criminal liability on the part of Sirisena for the acts or omission with regard to the attacks.
The PCoI has further recommended the Attorney General to consider instituting criminal proceedings against former President Maithripala Sirisena under any suitable provision in the Penal Code.
The final report on the Easter attacks was handed over to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena today, following which he sent the report to the Library of Parliament for the reference of the Parliamentarians.
