"Open universities without delay" - IUSF
The Inter University Student Federation states that steps should be taken to open the universities throughout the island as soon as possible under a proper health care protective system.
Its convener Ven. Rathkarawwe Jinaratana Thera told our news team that although a proposal has been submitted to the University Grants Commission for a proper health care protective system to be implemented in universities, it has not been considered so far.
Meanwhile, the University of Peradeniya, which recently reported 10 students with coronavirus infection, has decided to reopen to another 3,000 students from next week.
Prof. Upul Dissanayake, Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya told our news team that the university will be opened for education and examinations subject to health guidelines
